LOVE DAY NUMBER 5 |
Good Morning, Happy Tuesday to you all......................Today is my love of old worn wooden bowls and trenchers...... love the feel of the wood where many hands have held the bowl lovingly........I have some bowls that were fixed with whatever worked to hold the old bowl together to still use, metal, wire............the older, cracked the more dear to me......I love the aged look to the wood, it could tell a story I`m sure...........The long trencher I have is from Belgium, used to let the bread rise I was told in the antique store where I bought it, fell in love with it right then and there........The shorter one has so many tiny holes in the bottom and the color of the wood is wonderful, all chipped and cracked,..............Two years ago Cam and I went to a yard sale in a small town held in a old store once apon a time, lots of neat old stuff, we had fun rummaging around, then Cam holds up this beautiful big old wooden bowl and says, Fran, look at this, well, I said to him, oh ya it`s coming home with me, I asked the guy how much, the guy says, I can`t sell that, it has a big crack down the middle, you can have it, GULP!!!!! be still my beating heart........that was the best day ever, came away with a great old bowl for free.................to this day that bowl is one of my fav`s..................Prim Blessings Francine.
