LOVE DAY NUMBER 12 |
Morning Primfolk, hope everyone is well, the weather here is so nice and mild, wish Spring was on the way but I know it`s no way sprung in these parts.......................... Day 12 of Cindi`s love chain and this day I am telling my love for old lightning rods................I fell hard for these neat old pieces of yesteryear, you can still see some on the old barns, many are just a rod, no decorated ball sitting on the lightning rod, many a young boy used it for target practice I`m sure.....................The lighting rods had a ground wire attached to lead the lightning to the ground if hit so the barn stayed safe.............There are so many beautiful balls that once graced the old rods, blue, red, white glass, differant shapes, I really found them so fascinating, so I added a few to my home.................Wishing you all a great day, Blessings Francine.

Lightning Rods--interesting! I need one of those. Our house has been hit by lightning once, and the same tree in our front yard hit twice! Does this mean we are special? :) I have to say they are very attractive! I would collect them too! Maggie
ReplyDeleteWell this is all new to me! They are fantastic! I love the one with the blue ball and arrow.

Wow Francine - thanks for sharing. I've never seen these before. Hopefully I can find one out at sales this summer and make it a focal point in my garden. Love them. J

ReplyDeleteWow Francine you have some pretty cool collections!! Makes shopping alot of fun doesn't it? This is fun learning about other peoples love of things. I seen over at Trace's blog you had parakeets growing up. I had one named Clancey. I went on vacation with my mom n step dad and my grandma was watching him. He died!! She flushed him down the toilet she said he had germs!! I cried and cried!! I wanted to bury him!! He was green and was irish like me n my mom!! Now Sim won't let me get one. No pets for us boo hoo!! Right now in our life they would just add extra money that we don't have. Sad face!! Thanks for sharing your awesome collection!! XOXO Love Fran.
