BUTTERMOLD LOVE

LOVE DAY NUMBER 6
Greetings, hope you all have a good Wednesday................Will be a heartbreaking day for me, my girlfriend and her boys,  today is the funeral for her husband that was so suddenly taken from them,  but we shall  draw comfort and strength from the Heavenly Father..................................
Today is day 6th of Cindi`s Whole Lotta Love chain and keeping with the wood theme, another love of mine is old Butter molds and Butter paddles..........The molds come in so many differant patterns, from stars, to wheat, swans, such a great variety to choose from,  how sweet it was in those good old days to put a pretty pattern stamp on the butter, warms my heart...............love the wooden butter paddles to, some of the ones I bought  the wood is so smooth and worn down,  just the feel of it in my hand brings comfort to me.   How great it would have been to sit in the kitchen and watch the women folk of yesteryear use all the wonderful wooden pieces that so many of us treasure and collect these days.    Blessings Francine.

  4. Francine~

Do you ever make your own butter? I have been seriously giving it thought as the price of butter skyrockets. How tough can it be? What a lovely collection of butter molds...do you also have those little stamps for pats of butter?

  6. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your friend and her family. How sad. My grandmother used to churn butter the old-fashioned way many many years ago. I guess the good ol' days are gone, and so is she for that matter. But I have a lot of good memories in my heart.

  13. Blessings, my sweet friend,
Your butter molds and paddles are such a slice of our American history. What a wonderful collection you have, Francine.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and expression about the birth of our little grandbaby. He is a soft spoken little fellow...as sweet as can be.

My heart aches for your dear friend and her family. I'm glad she is blessed with your friendship.

    Warmly,
    Carolynn xoxo

  17. My prayers are with your friend. I have read a few blogs in the last few days of those who have lost someone. You have a beautiful collection of butter molds and paddles. I'm sure it was a lot of work for the ladies but I love the history of the way people put their heart into their work. Have a blessed and wonderful week. Roxie
