THRIFTY FINDS
Morning Prim Folk, and a nice morning it is here. We are enjoying some warmer then usual temperatures lately, well today. A balmy 8 degrees Celsius, ohhhhh, great for this time of year, last year we were knee deep in snow at this time, so it's wonderful. .........................Was out and about yesterday afternoon so we popped into the Thrift Store, have not been for a while, so thought I would take a look, never know what one might find.
I did find a nice old strainer with a great design, sweet little stitchery pin keep and a tin measuring cup, just like my Mother's but her's had the name Swan's Brand Flour imprinted on it. She kept it in her flour canister on the counter and I knew when that cup was out something good was baking, ohhhhh, such sweet childhood memories. Mom to this day still keeps the cup in her flour canister, I often hint to her I would like to have it but she replies, not yet dear...................Wishing you a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.

Great finds! My mama had a strainer like that.
ReplyDeleteI got a giggle out of your mama's reply. Mine says the same thing to me. :> )
I have the exact same measuring cup and I use it each day to scoop out two cups of dog food each for the pooches. I too love to surround myself and use things that invoke the good memories.
ReplyDeleteHave a great, albeit it nippy week. :D

ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I remember my Granny had those measuring cups. I also loved using her old sifter. Don't know what happened to her things, wish I had some of them for memories!

ReplyDeleteHi Francine,
ReplyDeleteI finally tracked my package down!! And I have been emailing thanks but all of them come back to my spam as undelivered and I rarely look at my spam so I didn't know until I saw I had over 199 spam messages so I thought I should delete all of those and there were a bunch of undelivered email messages. My ????? is why do they send those undelivered messages to spam instead of your inbox??? Crazy right??? Any how, thank you for the amazing box of goodies. I loved everything! Those sweet little prim sunflowers are so cute! The fur babies loved the treats. I made the mistake of opening the box, letting them have some treats, and then putting everything back in the box and sitting it on a table in the living room. Duane and I left for a few hours to run some errands and when we got home I found the empty treat bag in the floor!! Sarge is the climber in the bunch so I am sure he went from the love seat to the table got the treats out of the box and then jumped back to the love seat and then onto the floor. I just hoped the girls got some treats too!! They all looked guilty when we got home. One time I threw an empty box on nilla wafers in the trash. When we got home that day Sarge had his head stuck in the silver bag that lines the box of nilla wafers! He was wagging his tail and greeting us as usual but all the time he had this silver bag on his head. Hubby and I were laughing so hard that we forgot to take pictures, I just wonder how long he had the bag on his head and he was like what, I didn't make the mess in the kitchen, who me, No I didn't get into the trash can, it was the girls, really the girls did it!!! Thank you for being such an awesome pal. My blogger wouldn't let me upload pics last night!!! I am sure it was surprised to see me since I haven't posted on my blog since Pebbles passed away this past Feb!
Thank you again,
Hugs,
Lynn from Conover NC
