QUIET WEEKEND
Greetings Prim Folk, spending a peaceful morning here, coffee is on, candle is burning and I am going to curl up in my favorite chair with some old friends. I loved these wonderful Country Home magazines from long ago. Some old issues, 1987 on, I seem to hold on to, can't bring myself to get rid of them. Back then it was a really great magazine, has since been discontinued but even the newer issues were not like it once was. I still enjoy looking at all the old issues, specially the December ones.
Even the covers were beautiful, worth saving just for the pictures. So that is my weekend, being a homebody, Cam is off visiting his daughter in Calgary for the weekend, so Angel and I are snuggled in by ourselves at home.................Wishing you all a cozy weekend, Warm Blessings Francine.

There are some magazines I have kept every issue for years. I enjoy pulling them out out and looking through them too. Wishing you a warm relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeletequiet weekend is my favorite kind! enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh Francine...have a cozy weekend! I so miss Country Home and Home Companion magazines, but have also kept many of the old issues organized by month. Love to dig them out, they feel new all over again.

Oh Francine your weekend sounds like mine, curled up with a good magazine, maybe a little crafting.
ReplyDeleteCam didn't pick a good weekend to come to Calgary, it's cold and windy, and we are in for a snowfall warning. So far not much snow has fallen.
Enjoy your weekend
Tammy
This time of year snuggling up with a good read is so cozy!

That looks like a great magazine to curl up with! I subscribe to Country Magazine, but never did get the one you pictured.
ReplyDeleteThose nice quiet weekends are the best. They are rare. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI love these kinds of weekends...a nice pot of soup and a fire. I never save magazines because I've learned it's no fun to to finally say goodbye to them and carry stacks to the trash!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Hi Francine,
ReplyDeleteI used to subscribe to Country Home in its hay day...up till they stopped publishing. It was my all time favorite magazine and I remember the ones you are showing.
I don't care for the new version so I didn't subscribe again.
Enjoy your weekend.
Karen
It's hard to beat those old magazines!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence, I used to get that same magazine! I subscribed for a long time and saved a few of them as well because of the great ideas, recipes and just because I loved the pictures. But it's a great way to spend any afternoon!
ReplyDeleteMe too Francine, I have all mine from years back.
ReplyDeleteCountry Home was a favorite of mine too! I still have a few......when I moved I finally took the plunge and decreased! They had a "special" one out a few months back....it was a thicker one with a mix of past issues. I have that!! Blessings~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteI miss that magazine so much, too, the old one, not the newer ones. Those are okay, but the older magazine was special. I still have a few copies around here.
ReplyDeleteI loved Country Home. I save many magazines, too. Too many, probably.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend was a nice one!
I adore a quiet weekend. I get more of those during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteI too so enjoyed the older issues of Country Home!!! I need a quiet weekend! enjoy! OLM
ReplyDeletePS.. congrats on your win!! Wonderful goodies!
