PEANUTS HERE!!!!!!!
Morning Prim Folk, Happy Monday to you all!!!! The weather is still really nice, but it is suppose to cool down later this week, still no snow in the forecast yet................Spent yesterday outside putting away the Fall/Halloween decorations and doing a few chores around the house, fill the bird feeders, suet log and put some peanuts in the empty birdbath. Came in for a coffee break and sat back to watch those funny Blue Jays try and take as many peanuts as they can at one time. Grabbed my camera but they are so fast, ended up with these pictures I thought I would share...........Wishing you all a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.
Francine ~ Blue jays are funny that way. How do you keep the squirrels out of your empty birdbath. The Jays would get nothing at my house ~ the squirrels would eat is all ~
My Jays, Starlings, and Grackles leave NOTHING for the little guys! I even hang my suet inside of an plastic pot hung upside down so they can't fit inside.
Those Blue Jays are so funny! I have them coming to my peanut tray too, and I never saw a bird that could cram so many peanuts in their crop, and still fly off with one in their beak!
Hi Francine, just filled my bird feeders, the weather has become down right chilly here in Maine, Are those peanuts shelled? I have a love hate relationship with squirrels...hugs...
I really miss seeing bluejays. Several years ago the West Nile Virus killed off alot of them around here. They're very bossy and pushy at the bird feeders, and they can be very loud, but I sure would like to see them make a return here! Have a great week! Carol

I love feeding the peanuts to the blue jays and squirrels! The blue jays watch for me and then send out a signal to their friends! Maggie

ReplyDeleteBlue Jays are ornery but fun to watch. We had one that would sit on the dog food pan and not let the dog eat.
ReplyDeleteJust filled my feeder up, too....I will have to try some peanuts!
ReplyDeleteNice of you to feed the ornery bullys, they like my suet feeder and chase off the other birds:(
ReplyDeleteGotta love those bluejays. We have lots of those around my place too. If I don't feed them first thing in the morning. They start to complain.

Bluejays are the worst bullies! They drive away the smaller birds, the meanies!
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Francine.
I was trying to figure out how to "serve" all the Blue Jays we had up at the lake house...thanks for the idea!
