MERRY SATURDAY

Greetings Prim Folk,  it is a mild morning here, cloudy but nice and I am enjoying my weekend off so far. 

 The other day we had a fresh snowfall so now it really looks like a winter wonderland outside which  put me in the Christmas decorating mode. So out came more boxes, on came the Christmas music and away I went. I told myself I was not going to put out so much but as I look through the boxes that hold the holiday treasures I find it so hard not to................Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, those in the States enjoying a Thanksgiving long weekend, eat, drink and be merry!!!!!! SISTER'S

Morning Prim Folk,  Happy Sunday to you...........Baby it's still cold outside and that Ole North wind is just a blowing this A.M,  brrrrr, hold onto your hats out there.......................Today is a special day for my family, it is my Older Sister's Anniversary and my middle Sister's Birthday, yay!!!!!!  They are truly  the best Sister's a girl could ask for,I love them so much, I am very blessed. Both are also my best friends and we have the best of times together,  so much love and laughter. We are getting together this evening to enjoy a piece of cake and each other. So to my dear Sister's, wishing you both a very Happy day, enjoy, and to all of you in blog land, have a wonderful day to,  Always Close At Heart, Francine.

DRYING TIME

Morning Prim Folk,  Happy Friday to you all!!!!!!  Cold this morning, guess Old Man Winter is here to stay. Had more snow two nights ago, beginning to look a lot like Christmas...........I had been  drying  out some orange and apple slices, I would like to hang them on the tree this year, love the simple look. But mine seem to turn dark where I have seen pictures of nice brighter dried fruit, any suggestions  out there????  I did mine in a oven on low for a few days, any better way?............Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, Blessings Francine.

OUTSIDE HOLIDAY DECORATING

Morning Prim Folk, brrrr, Jack Frost is nipping at my nose this morning, but there is snow on the ground so it usually is cold. In the house warming up now with a steaming cup of coffee. I was out snapping some pictures to use.... .............................Went out yesterday afternoon and did some decorating, put up the garland with lights around the door, on top of the window and hung a pine wreath I just bought at Home Depot. The pine smells so good, just like Christmas should smell like. Then cut some branches off our Blue Spruce, placed in the snowman pail with pine cones, branches and berries on the old chair with my Merry Christmas sign. The garland looks so much better lite up at night, love how it looks. It's a start to the Holiday decorating outside,  will either keep it like that or change some things around, but ok for now.............Angel and I are off to Grandmother's house this afternoon, well, my Mom's, till next time, have a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.

HAPPY MONDAY

Morning Prim Folk,  hope you all enjoyed the weekend.................  I really had a nice quiet one, reading, relaxing and watching the snow fall. Oh ya, woke up to the ground covered in the white stuff Sunday, now it feels like Christmas is near.   So after looking through the  December issues of Country Home, I was up to starting to do a little Christmas decorating, well, the snow helped to............... While I was out shoveling, cut some ceder branches to put in my wooden bowl with berries, pine cones and pieces of Birch with a candle. Then wanted to have something different  on the kitchen table this year, so I brought in the old wood coke carrier with many departments. Placed 3 tins with candles, prim snowman, bundles of cinnamon sticks, pine cones and greens with berries. I really would like to put in some real pieces of pine,  will get some soon.  Then in the new lite wreath I won, placed a hooked snowman face, so far so good. That's about as far as I went  with the decorating for the Holidays, so many boxes, makes my head spin. So each day I will do a little at a time, want to enjoy it.....................Cam made it back home safe and sound, wicked weather out west,  Angel was a happy girl Daddy was home as was I.....................Wishing you all a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.

QUIET WEEKEND

Greetings Prim Folk,  spending a peaceful morning here,  coffee is on, candle is burning and I am going to curl up in my favorite chair with some old friends.  I loved these wonderful Country Home magazines from long ago. Some old issues, 1987 on, I seem to hold on to, can't bring myself to get rid of them.  Back then  it was a  really great magazine, has since been discontinued but even the newer issues were not like it once was. I still enjoy looking at all  the old issues, specially the December ones.

 Even the covers were beautiful, worth saving just for the pictures. So that is my weekend, being a homebody, Cam is off visiting his daughter in Calgary for the weekend, so Angel and I are snuggled in by ourselves at home.................Wishing you all a cozy weekend, Warm Blessings Francine.

I joined in on the 13 Days Of Halloween chain and happened to win the prize, Yipee!!!!!!!  I received the package yesterday, so exciting. Inside was a prim Turkey, love it, a cute Fall magnet, sweet little star and 6  beautiful tags. Also found a rustic  wreath that lights up at the tips, love it, would never find anything like this here. THRIFTY FINDS

Morning Prim Folk,  and a nice morning it is here. We are enjoying  some warmer then usual temperatures lately, well today. A balmy 8 degrees Celsius, ohhhhh, great for this time of year, last year we were knee deep in snow at this time, so it's wonderful. .........................Was out and about yesterday afternoon so we popped into the Thrift Store, have not been for a while, so thought I would take a look, never know what one might find.

  I did find a nice old strainer with a great design,  sweet little stitchery pin keep and a  tin measuring cup, just like my Mother's but her's had the name Swan's Brand Flour imprinted on it. She kept it in her flour canister  on the counter and  I knew when that cup was out something good was baking, ohhhhh, such sweet  childhood memories.  Mom to this day still keeps the cup in her flour canister, I often hint  to her I would like to have it but she replies, not yet dear...................Wishing you a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.

MOM'S BIRTHDAY

Morning Prim Folk,  Happy Sunday to you all............Much cooler this morning,  cold North wind is blowing making it feel  like old man Winter is around the corner...................We had a wonderful evening yesterday celebrating my Mother's Birthday, she had a great time. Our meals at Applebee's was yummy as usual, then  we  all came  back to our place to have a piece of Birthday cake, coffee and for Mom to open her presents. The cake was a Red Velvet Jeanne's cake, yummy, so good. Here in Winnipeg is  the only place you can get one, we are known for this wonderful cake and have the only bakery, so happy about that.................Wishing you a wonderful day, Blessings Francine.

BLOOMING CHRISTMAS

Morning Prim Folk,  Happy Friday to you all............Still enjoying some nice sunny days, cool but with the sunshine the days are wonderful. I am finding it sure gets dark early with the time change though, around 5:00 the lights are on.  November is the  time of year I like to settle in and get cozy, become a homebody and feather the nest..............I noticed the other day my Christmas Cactus was blooming, so pretty and many buds yet to open, is it not to early?  Thought it would bloom closer to the Holiday, but I'll enjoy the flowers anyway. It was given to me by my Sister's boyfriend a couple of years ago, he said it never bloomed for him, oh but look at it now. Thanks Gary, I love the Cactus. ..................Tomorrow is my beautiful Mother's Birthday, she will be 88 years young. My family are  all getting together and taking her to Applebee's for supper, she picked the  restaurant. Then we are coming to our place to have coffee,  cake  and where she will also  open her presents, can't wait, loves me my family time...................A big thank you for  all your comments on the wooden Cardinal or house, the Cardinal it is, then I can tuck in some greens with the Holiday coming.............. DECISIONS

Greetings Prim Folk,  nice sunny morning here but cool out there,  I  am enjoying a hot cup of coffee sitting in the warm sunshine...............Yesterday afternoon decided I wanted to put something on the front door in between  the seasonal wreaths I hang out. So I gathered some goodies to try out and see what would look prim perfect.  I found this tin hanger  at a yard sale this summer, didn't like the tin color so I painted it black and glued a  old heart cookie cutter on the front.  Put in some berry and star stems, then came the decision, liked  the look of the wood Cardinal but then I also liked the look of the small wooden house, oh oh.  So  gals, this is where you come  in and help me out,  please let me know what you think looks better, need some opinions to help me decide. Morning Prim Folk,  Happy Monday to you all!!!!  The weather is still really nice, but it is suppose to cool down later this week, still no snow in the forecast yet................Spent yesterday outside putting away the Fall/Halloween decorations and doing a few chores around the house, fill the bird feeders,  suet log  and put some peanuts in the empty birdbath. Came in for a coffee break  and sat back to watch those funny Blue Jays try and take as many peanuts as they can at one time. HAPPY NOVEMBER

Morning Prim Folk,  hope all is well for you  this first weekend in November, wow, really can't believe it is here.  We are enjoying some warm weather for a change, usually we have snow by now but I'll take this nice weather thank - you..................... My Sister and I enjoyed our little getaway, had many laughs together, shopping and eating out.  I did not bring any money home but I did make a  deposit at the Shooting Star casino, oh well, that's why they call it gambling.. Shopped at Wal-Mart, still some great bargains to be had, a couple of cozy sweaters, make-up, half the price there as it is here.   This sweet bird feeder I bought at the  Duty Free, love it, the antique look and  tin roof sold me.  So  now I am  back home sweet home, safe and sound with  my wallet a lot lighter but many great memories  shared with my

Sister......Cam had about 120 ghosts and goblins coming trick or  treating on Halloween night, he said they did not stop coming, oh well, good to see them out and about........................I also am a very happy winner of Robyn's and Misi's  giveaway from 13 Days Of Halloween, so excited to win, woo hoo!!!!!! will post the prize when I receive  the package.  Well, that's about it, wishing you all a wonderful weekend, Blessings Francine.
