Morning Prim Folk, well, we came back last night from the lake, to rainy and damp, today is even worse, so I am happy we decided to come home last night.....................Friday was ok, rained only a little in the afternoon, evening was enjoyable sitting by the crackling fire watching the birds, so many have returned, sure kept us entertained.............The Hummingbirds, Wrens, Nuthatches, Chickadees, Grosbeaks, Woodpeckers and I was very excited to see this new fine feathered friend come over for a visit and eat the sunflowers, a beautiful Scarlet Tanager, oh my, such a pretty color red, but of coarse when we left for the lake, forgot to grab the camera, so I snapped the picture with my I-Pad, not the greatest picture but you can still see how beautiful the bird is.........that make my weekend, simple joy of Nature...............All and all was nice to be away at the lake, but if you have to sit in the trailer during the rain and dampness, might as well come home,
that's what is really great about being only 40 minutes away from home, we can come and go to the lake when we want.............So today I will get some things done inside the cozy warm house, to cold and windy out there..............Thanks for all your comments and popping by, Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday, Blessings Francine.
i'd love to see a tanager! wow!

I've never seen one in person. A real beauty.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that it's close enough to be able to visit easily and often :) Sounds like a wonderful time and such beautiful sightings!
ReplyDeleteToday was much better here. Yesterday was not a camp day. That bird is beautiful. Hope the warmer weather hits you before next weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Francine, wet and rainy here too, looks like our entire week includes rain, ugh!!...I have yet to get much planting accomplished, your planters look wonderful. Love the Scarlet Tanager, such a showy bird...Enjoy your evening, Julie.
ReplyDeleteIt is rainy here too but it is suppose to warm up.
ReplyDeletehave a great week.
Cathy
Really a beautiful bird!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh....now that's the perfect arrangement - to have your getaway place so close to home! I'm not much of a cottage/camp person I guess - have too much trouble trying to keep up with one place, let alone two!! But the thought of crackling fires and such does tempt me from time to time... ;-) Beautiful bird....I don't think I've ever seen one in person - at least with knowing what it was!! Happy new week ahead! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bird! They don't live around here. Looks like we're missing out. We don't have cardinals either! Hope to see them in the wild one day. So glad you had fun at the lake. Mimi
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that you got rained out this weekend, but I hope you'll have lots of beautiful weekends to come, and I hope that beautiful visitor comes back too for you to enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to see a tanager. I caught a glimpse of one only once in my life so far. Lovely!
