Good Morning Prim Folk, yay!!! January is history, good riddance, what a wicked cold snowy month it was. I know here in Canada we are known for the cold winter months but wow!! it was a little to cold for so long, also the amount of snow that fell and fell. Not that the beginning of February is any better but it's closer to Spring, I'll take it. Also loving the longer day light, so nice..................... Picked up the new March issue of Country Sampler so I spent yesterday cuddled up with it enjoying sites of Spring and many wonderful primitive decorated homes, happy happy. One of my favourite pastimes I enjoy, reading a good book or a great magazine with a cuppa and a yummy smelling candle burning. This scent of the candle is Smoke House, has a pleasant smell of sweet wood smoke when burning. My SIL bought the prim jar candle for me years ago when they took a holiday to Pennsylvania, Amish country. I love it and never wanted to burn it, I would smell it every now and then but finally I decided to burn it and oh my, smells so good................May you take the time to enjoy the simple things around you, Tis a gift to be simple.........Warm Blessings Francine.
we are under the gun for a big storm tomorrow so winter has not breathed it's last for sure.

Sounds like a great candle! Stay warm Francine! :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm Francine and I bought the Country Sampler yesterday as well but I saved it to enjoy today. It's the little things that bring us the happiest times.

Hi Francine - it's still pretty chilly here as well. It's minus 5 this morning. Brrr! But, spring is waiting in the wings, to make her grand entrance (in about two months, LOL). Have a great day!

A good way to spend some time!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that candle and magazine!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great feeling when we know we aren't going anywhere to sit down with a good book or magazine, a beautiful scent of a candle burning, and maybe a few cut flowers or ivy to brighten up the room. The crackle of a warm fireplace or just peaceful quiet.........our home is our winter haven! But I'm looking forward to sitting under a flower covered arbor or trees in the summer! And for you a gorgeous lake! Blessings~~~Roxie

Happy February..one month closer to spring! I like the flickering battery operated candles..most of the time the fragrance is overwhelming and we both get all stuffed up:(
ReplyDeleteI love Country Sampler! That's a pretty cover for this issue, I haven't seen it yet. Have a nice evening and enjoy that candle!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect way to spend a morning. Hope you are warm and well!

I do that too, don't want to burn certain ones then I finally thought, what the heck.
ReplyDeleteWe are suppose to get more snow tonight...grrrr..but I can smell Spring in the air. The sun was out all day today.
Hugs

It has been a winter, hasn't it Girlfriend?? I've stopped listening to the forecast....so, as far as I know, we're not in for a major storm this time around... ;o) I reckon Nod is pretty similar to Canada in some respects....and while spring may be only a little over a month away on the calendar, it will be a good long while in coming here....I shudder to think that March is usually our "snowiest" month....But, thankfully, our "coldest" month should be behind us. Happy, warm, February to you..... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.. a nice candle and some quiet time reading or creating is what I love. The new issue was a bit disappointing..I think they are going in a different direction and slowly moving away from prims. More snow tonight into tomorrow. Yuk, Jannice
ReplyDeleteI got the new rug hooking magazine tonight. It's suppose to snow tomorrow but it's February and yes, one month closer to Spring
ReplyDeleteA nice candle burning and some good reading material, is my idea of perfect :) We've had some snow here too and supposed to get more this week, I'm ready for it all to go away :)
ReplyDeleteCandles and little lamps help me get through gloomy winter. Stay warm! Mimi
