PRAIRIE WINTER |
Good Morning Primfolk, well, I want to thank you for all your comments to help me out on this darn google browse problem, did what Amy said to try and it worked, Yey!!!!....A BIG THANK YOU AGAIN, now I can put pictures on this post................... Enjoying a quite morning, sipping a hot cup of coffee watching two bunnies outside the front window, two small brown furry balls against the white snow...............I do enjoy Winter, being born and raised here on the cold Winter Prairies of Canada, the winters are long and cold, so we learn to enjoy our Canadian winters.......... as kids we were always playing outdoors, sledding, skating, building snowmen, then iwhen our feet froze we came in the warm house for a yummy hot cup of cocoa made with love from Mom, ahhhhhh good Winter memories.......... So Janurary I find myself is the time to slow it down, snuggle in and nest, don`t get me wrong, come March, I want Spring but for now I will cuddle in the cozy warm house, read a good book, start rug hooking and enjoy the winter landscapes.........I have always been drawn pictures of houses on a snowy night, the glow of a lamp shining through windows, warms my heart........so I thought I would post some pictures I love to warm you on a cold winters day............Wishing you all a cozy warm weekend, Prim Blessings Francine.

Good Morning! SO happy you can post pictures again and what beautiful ones you posted. I could live in any one of those homes nestled in the snow and be quite happy! Maggie/Maggie's Lil' Fixins
ReplyDeleteHi Francine.
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures. We have a nice covering of snow here in Ontario. I just love snow. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but oh well..........
I love being inside with my wood stove going, quilting and looking out at the snow coming down :)
Have a great week.
Janet
Glad you were able to get the problem fixed Francine. It's so frustrating when those things happen.
ReplyDeleteI learned to love winter when we lived in Alaska for 10 years. But like you, I was always ready for spring when it came! Now living in Virginia, we don't get as much of it, and I miss there being a lot of snow and being able to enjoy it for the same reasons you do.
ReplyDeleteSo glad it worked for you.I love the first pic with the moon and the deep snow.Warm Blessings!~Amy
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I couldn't wait to get outside to play in the snow. All bundled up in those snow suits and then 5 minutes outside and you had to pee. Lol. Took 15 minutes to get undressed again.
ReplyDeleteFrancine ~
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you love the snow and can embrace winter. Not me. The older I get, the less I can tolerate the cold and I'm sure our winter here in northern Ohio is NOTHING like yours.
Hugs :)
Lauren
Beautiful set of wintry images! Love that first one with the moon/shadow.
ReplyDeleteI love that cottage from The Holiday. I do wish we would get a bit of snow. I like a "bit" at this time of year!

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos this morning. I love that top one of the snow and the moonlight. I am so glad you got your picture thing fixed. You are the third person I have read this morning that had the same problem. It is nice to know it can be fixed. I am going to pass it on to a person who was going to stop blogging because of it.
ReplyDeleteYour photos in your sidebar are just breath taking too.
Warm winter wishes to you! Loved the pictures, especially the one from "The Holiday". Your post brought back many childhood memories.
ReplyDeleteYea, pictures!!! :o) I, too, love the look of a lighted window from the outside...but, me no likey being outside much in winter. Never have, never will. :o But that first photo (Prairie Winter) is my fave.....how serene is that!! Stay warm and snuggly my friend....my thoughts turn to crafting these months as well, but, alas, I have a new term starting and have to hit the textbooks instead. Boo hoo. Happy, blessed, Sunday to you! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, winter has it's own blessings and snuggling up and just being cozy by the fire is one of them! :) I always miss it come early fall, I'll be tired from all the work of spring, summer and fall and looking forward to winter again. Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteHi Francine, I too love winter and all that it encompasses. Snow, darkness, candlelight, a warm wood fire, hot chocolate. This is the season to accomplish craft projects and read all those wonderful books one receives at Christmas. Have a lovely day tomorrow, greetings, Julie.
ReplyDeleteMy Paternal gramma had a gray farmhouse out in the country. She lived on a hill and we loved sledding down that hill. My cousins and I use to build snow forts, snowmen and stay out all day..and gram would make us all some homemade hot chocolate when we came in too! Have a great week. Here in Michigan we will be getting in to the 50's...unusual weather for us...hmmm, global warming? Janice
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Francine! Thanks so much for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Friend
ReplyDeleteI so love the winter and snow too.
Beautiful pictures.
I love to create by the fire with a hot cuppa in the winter.
Simple joys and love

I am not thrilled with winter, but I have lived almost my whole life in Minnesota. I make do..sometimes the bitter cold really gets to me. I don't schedule anything for mornings in the winter that way I don't have to go out early in the morning. Have a good week:)
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Alaska, winter and weather were just a part of life. You got the right gear and got outside. We went hiking, and sledding, and all the other parts of winter that you can do. No one complained at below zero weather and a snow storm or rain storm didn't deter anyone from getting outside. Now, that we have been in the states for a while, I have turned back into a big baby and cry when the temps dip to the twenties. I bet Canada is so beautiful right now. -Steph-
ReplyDeleteNice pics, even though I'm not a huge big fan of winter, but I guess I live in a snowy state and might just as well go play in it with the kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI love snow and we get very very little of it here in the south! Actually Christmas afternoon we left for my brother's house and we got a little snow the next day....wouldn't you know it....we missed it! I love when folks celebrate the snow and just enjoy that season. Beautiful pics! I can just imagine how beautiful Canada is with the snow! Show us more pics! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you Francine for 2013!
Hugs,
Tammy
Hi sweet Francine,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and uplifting post. I am a winter lover, too. I like snuggling up in my nest and enjoying a quiet snowy day. I do believe the earth whispers when it snow.
Thank you for your kind comments this past few months. You are such a blessing to me!
Hugs across the miles,

I just love all of the winter scenes. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
