DISAPPOINTED ROADTRIP

Morning Primfolk,  hope this Sunday finds you all well and looking forward to a New Year...........Overcast here in Winnipeg this A.M.,  more snow on the way perhaps???..........Well,  my little roadtrip yesterday was a bust,  loved the trip out, pretty scenery,  saw two beautiful deer in the pines,  always enjoy a drive in the country, winter, summer, anytime........but when we came to Lockport, no Antique store to be found,  say what!!!!...........funny, asked around, no one knew of a Antique store, felt like I was in a Twilight Zone movie............One of my Sister`s was at one named The General Store  not long ago, said it was wonderful, full of goodies, she emailed me the time it was opened and closed and a Boxing day sale happening,  oh bother........... We drove around, no nothing........well, thats that.......came back to home turf, stopped for lunch then hit a Thrift store, guess that  will have to do today, found a few little things,  cute enamel white egg cup, small tin of cutters, flicker candle and a gravy boat with plate, love Johnson Brother dishes, such wonderful scenes they put on their dishes,  it has a chip but oh well, me loves it still, for a buck, I`ll give it a home.........so thats all folks, wishing you a good day, keep cozy, Blessings Francine.

  2. That's disappointing about the antique store. But you still got a nice outing of the deal! Love the Gravy Boat dish. Very quaint.

  3. Oh, I too love Johnson Brother dishes. I can visualize paperwhites planted in this gravey boat covered with a bit of green moss. We received another six inches of snow over night, tis winter in Maine. Greetings, Julie.

Great find on the gravy boat. A chip or two never bothers me. I love Julie's idea.

  13. Oh I hate when things like that happen. You went to all of that trouble and what you went looking for is gone.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year. With lots of road trips and lots of wonderful finds.

  14. Oh no but at least you had a scenic trip. I drove about 45 minutes yesterday to check out two thrift shops, nothing, however there was a discount grocery store there so it wasn't a complete waste. I'm dying to go down to Amish country today but I'm not sure about the weather, it's been snowy and icy here the past few weeks so I may not load the kids up for an adventure. Next week it's due to be in the 40's! Yay, my Christmas decor will unfreeze so I can bring it in. Anyhow, take care Francine!
