I'M BACK

Greetings Prim Folk,  I am back from the lake and catching up with you all, well, trying.  Laundry is overflowing, flowers need watering but I wanted to say hello, I missed you.   Was a really hot few days at the lake, but I will not complain, or try not to.   The porch is up  and I am a happy camper, YAY!!!! The guys worked really hard getting the porch put together all weekend,  they did get out on the pontoon boat to do a little fishing too, good thing.  I was staining the boards yesterday while Cam was putting the last finishing touches on the side walls, still a couple things to finish up on it but the worst is over.  We are thinking of a tin roof instead of shingles, any hints out there???   I moved a few things around now that the porch is in place, that was fun, always enjoy a decorating challenge..........Wishing you all a wonderful day, thanks for popping in, Summer Blessings Francine.

  15. You don't have much pitch to your roof, and shingles might leak. I would use metal and you won't have any leaks. When there is not much pitch, the water does not run off that fast, and the wind can blow it back up under the shingles, and eventually it will start to leak, and the wood will stay wet for a long time and eventually, you start to have problems with rot.

  16. Here I am, breaking my "once-a-week" rule. lol. We re-roofed our home a few years ago, and used metal roofing. It's very sturdy and will withstand a lot of inclement weather a lot better than the shingles (we think).
